sendsend.email

Make

Send email from a Make scenario and start scenarios when something happens to an email.

Make talks to any API through its HTTP module, so there is nothing to install.

Send an email

  1. Add the module HTTP → Make a request.
  2. URL https://api.sendsend.email/v1/emails, method POST.
  3. Headers: Authorization = Bearer ss_live_… (use a Make connection or keychain item for the key, not plain text in the scenario).
  4. Body type Raw, content type JSON (application/json), and request content:
{
  "from": "Acme <hello@mail.acme.com>",
  "to": ["{{1.email}}"],
  "subject": "Welcome, {{1.name}}",
  "html": "<p>Thanks for signing up.</p>"
}
  1. Turn on Parse response. The next modules get id and status.
  2. Add an Idempotency-Key header mapped to something unique from the trigger, so a re-run never sends twice.

A 202 means the email was queued, not delivered. Follow it with the webhook below, or fetch it by id.

Start a scenario on an event

  1. Add Webhooks → Custom webhook as the first module, create a webhook, and copy its address.
  2. Create a webhook endpoint in SendSend with that address and the events you want (email.bounced, email.received, …), in the dashboard or by API.
  3. Run the scenario once and send a test email so Make learns the data structure.
Make cannot check the signature on the request, so treat the webhook address as a secret. If the scenario does something that matters, such as deleting records, re-fetch the email by id with the API before acting on it.
