Acceptable use

SendSend is for two kinds of email. Transactional email is a message a person expects because of something they did in an application, such as verifying an account, resetting a password, accepting an invitation, confirming an order or receiving a notification they signed up for. Marketing email (newsletters, announcements, promotions) is allowed only to people who have clearly asked to receive it, sent as a broadcast with a working unsubscribe link.

What you can’t send

  • Marketing, newsletters or promotions to anyone who has not asked for them, or without a clear way to unsubscribe. Send those as broadcasts, which add one automatically; do not send them through the transactional API.
  • Cold outreach, or mail to purchased, rented, scraped or harvested lists.
  • Adding people to an audience who did not agree to it, or adding someone back after they unsubscribed.
  • Phishing, impersonation, deceptive headers or sender names, or anything meant to defraud.
  • Malware, illegal content, or content that breaks the law where you or your recipients are.
  • Mail from a domain you don’t control, or attempts to get around account limits, review or suspension.

What we do to protect senders

  • New accounts are reviewed before live sending.
  • You must prove you own a domain (DNS) before sending from it.
  • We suppress addresses that hard-bounce or complain and never send to them again.
  • We watch bounce and complaint rates. If they climb to levels that put deliverability at risk, we pause sending automatically, show you the reason and review the account with you.
  • We can suspend an account that breaks this policy, to protect other customers and our mail provider relationships.

Reporting abuse

If you received mail sent through SendSend that you think breaks this policy, forward it with its full headers to support@sendsend.email with the subject “Abuse report”. We review every report.

This is a plain-language operating policy for the invite-only beta. See also our Terms of service and Privacy policy.
